What is Insideout Savvy?
Insideout Savvy offers space to appreciate the relief, healing and growth that results from self-alignment and balanced connection. This includes online and print resources, publications, classes, events, consultations, art and partner projects that find roots in partnership, compassionate communication, self-directed learning, mindfulness and meditation, abundance, law-of-attraction, somatic awareness and social permaculture.
As a new mother, I was thrilled and eager to become a parent, but the specifics of the job didn’t occur to me until I was well on the way. I remember a day, sometime after my first child was born, as I was figuring things out one at a time (food, clothing, sleeping) and then it occurred to me, “oh! he’s going to have to go to school, right?”
Thus began a long and wonderful path of searching, sorting, discovering and deciding how to stay connected with my children, maintain my health and sanity, and create a constantly surprisingly delightful existence in this world, even if it meant doing things differently than what was expected of me.
In 2008 I opened Insideout Schoolhouse, whose name provided certain security for some very schooled parents dipping their toes in the waters of free learning. Insideout Schoolhouse hosted many brilliant and lovely creations including Big Kitchen with Food, community classes for adults and children in Meditation, Cooperative Theater, Cooperative Games and Compassionate Communication, Neighborhood Tree Plantings, Chicken Ambassador visits to the neighboring Head Start, Words of Love blog, support for childhood business startups including snack stands and book publishing, childcare, and classes for childcare providers.
By 2016 I have come to better know the joy and relief that comes from freely growing from the inside out, and feel more integrity exploring and appreciating that growth, not just in relation to schooling, but in all aspects of life. Thus in spring 2016 Insideout Schoolhouse transitioned into Insideout Savvy.
